THE UNI MEGA BIN

Following the success of the first hireable plastic bin to be introduced to the fruit and vegetable industry in 1998 , the United Crate Co-Operative has once again provided another option to Growers marketing bulk produce such as watermelon, pumpkin, potatoes. apples, carrots and leaf lines.

The new Megabin boasts a greater capacity of 750 litres for improved packouts and full length feet ideally suited for pallet racking.

Made in Australia to Australian standards the Megabin has fast been accepted by Growers, Agents and Buyers alike as the new industry standard container for bulk produce. Le Do, who grows broccoli in Carabooda is very happy with the performance of the Megabin in the field due to the obvious advantages it has over its wooden predecessor.

Watermelon and pumpkin salesman Domenic Costantino recommends that his Growers use the plastic bin as a means of reducing product damage that wooden bins have caused in the past due to broken boards, protruding nails, and excessive movement of the wooden framework.

He mentioned that the interlocking feet of the Megabin were a bonus when considering the safety of stacking the bins one on top of the other. Local retailer Sam Audino praises the presentation of the plastic bin which can be wheeled out on the shop floor without the risk of customers tearing their clothes or suffering injury from sharp corners and splintered wood as was the case with the old bins.
